I plugged in mum's Mathmos Lava Lamp and switched it on at the wall but it wasn't working. I looked at the wire and found that it had snapped. I touched the wire on the inside......... silly thing to do, i know. I forgot that it was on.

It felt like.... well, you know those springy door-stoppers that make a twang-ing sound when you flick them. It felt like my middle finger was the door stopper being flicked, only more painful.

moving on from that, mum was crying in the car on the way home from lakeside tonight. when she was out buying our christmas cards (as you do)it hit her hard that we wouldn't be opening most of our presents with her..... i'll make it up to her...
